Self Taught Silversmith

NeshikotJewelry Started in 2014 when I decided to have an "official" creative outlet to make sure I am happy and have a healthy balance of work and fun in my life.
I was always both a creative and an analytical thinker and going through life I was drawn to science and wanted to work in health care.
Work is very interesting and fulfilling but I realized I was missing being able to just think of an idea and make it come to life.
I would often draw, paint, knit, sing etc. but wanted to be able to create something that truly meant something to me.
in 2013 I moved and was going through all of my stuff and found a few pieces of jewelry I had received from each of my grandmothers; I don't know what it was but I just started to cry. As I examined the necklace and earrings from my dad's mom and the ring my mom's mother gave me last time I saw her; they each carried so many memories of the person they belonged to. I remembered their wisdom, their stubbornness, my dad's mom was always so strong and I remember the advise she would give me. They are both gone but somehow are not too far away.
That's when I knew- this is what I want to do- jewelry that lasts a lifetime.
